Mudslide cancels Seattle-Edmonds Sounder train service Friday morning

Sounder commuter train service between Seattle and Everett was canceled Thursday and Friday due to a mudslide.

Special buses will depart Edmonds Station at 6:41 am and 7:41 am at the north side of the Amtrak lot. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit Route 416 at Edmonds Station departing at 5:45 a.m., 6:15 a.m., 6:34 a.m., 6:55 a.m., and 7:42 a.m.

Because of global warming and erosion on all shores and landscapes close to shorelines in the United States and elsewhere (and here between Seattle and Everett, a safety alert zone at the tracks and hillsides), I would like to see the geotechnical report and survey of the soil for the cliff at Sunset Avenue where money has already been spent to redo this small area. We saw survey people at this area, but we never saw anybody doing a survey of the soil and its integrity. We have also seen no reports for this or paper-work regarding this from the landscape architecture firm or the city.

    Again, we are talking about a FOUNDATION. One for the project proposal, and two for a safe and solid foundation to actually BUILD the project on.
