EPIC offers free editing workshop on Saturday

EPICEPIC Group board members Kim Votry and Christine Pinto will lead an editing workshop for writers of all ages and levels this Sat., March 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Richmond Beach Library. The event is free and open to the public.

Instructors Votry and Pinto have been leading National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) programs in area classrooms for the past three years, and developed this workshop to help student writers who have a first draft but were not sure what to do next. “As we organized our thoughts and materials,” said Votry, “we realized we have a solid plan for anyone unsure about editing. We’ve created a step-by-step approach that will help writers edit their work, whether they’re beginning or advanced.”

“Our approach is appropriate for fiction and narrative non-fiction,” said Pinto, who invites writers to bring along a manuscript in process. “If you have a short story, novel, or memoir, we’ll help you organize your editing and revision process.” Attendees will receive handouts and there will be time for specific questions to be addressed.
