Meadowdale girls open basketball postseason at Everett Wednesday

Meadowdale High School’s girls basketball team begins postseason play Wednesday at Everett High School.

The Mavericks (5-8, 7-13) , the Wesco 3A South’s No. 4 seed, faces off against Wesco North No. 1 seed Everett (8-5, 12-8) at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Everett High School. Meadowdale lost 51-48 to the Seagulls during the regular season.

The Mavs’ Ndey Sonko averages a team-high 8.5 points per game. Teammate Mackenzie Bretz is scoring 7.9 points per game.

If the Mavericks win, they would face either Mountlake Terrace or Stanwood at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15 at Lynnwood High School. A loss sends Meadowdale into the loser’s bracket against the loser of Mountlake Terrace/Stanwood at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15 at either Mountlake Terrace or Stanwood,.
