Our own Larry Vogel was at the Edmonds Sounder train station Wednesday morning to capture the excitement of Seahawks fans who crowded into the Sounder train for its trip to downtown Seattle, where many are attending the Seahawks victory parade starting at 11 a.m.
“There were more than 300 people on the platform when I got there at 7:30 a.m. I spoke with one fan who said she’d been there since 6:30 and two full trains had already passed by. I spoke with the Sound Transit security officer, who told me that the 7:41…the last southbound train of the day…was already full and wouldn’t be able to pick up anyone in Edmonds. Despite this, when the train pulled up the fans already on the train just crowded in as tightly as they could to let the Edmonds fans on. It took a few minutes to squeeze everyone in, and while the Edmonds fans were pushing their way into the train, Sound Transit announced over the PA system that there would be extra buses. But miraculously, everyone got on the train!”
