We’ve been getting questions about this sign, seen on Dayton near the Edmonds Ferry toll booth, so we asked Edmonds Public Works Director Phil Williams about it. According to Williams, BNSF is proposing a repair of its Dayton/Railroad Avenue rail crossing. “Subsurface soil conditions have apparently created the need for additional treatments to strengthen the base below the tracks,” Williams said. It is uncertain exactly when the repairs will take place (likely next week) but Williams said it will NOT be on the dates shown on the sign — Feb. 13 and 14. More information will be coming from the city as soon as the dates are finalized; when the project does occur, car traffic will be rerouted via Main Street and Railroad Avenue. (Photo by Tom Dockins)
