Edmonds-Woodway’s Nathan Vulliet will wrestle in the semifinals Saturday morning at Mat Classic XXVI. Vulliet, competing at 145 lbs., defeated his first two opponents 5-1 and 6-2 to advance to the semi-final match against Wyatt Nemek from Mead. Vulliet, who lost a heartbreaking overtime match in the regional final, says he’s over that and ready to compete for a state championship.

“I practiced against other wrestlers and coaches, they beat up on me to make sure I was ready,” he said. Vulliet and Nemek square off at 10:40 a.m. Saturday morning, and the winner advances to the finals.
