Twenty Edmonds District high school students to compete in Terrace Idol
Terrace Idol, an annual high school student singing competition held at Mountlake Terrace High School, begins its three-week run with first round performances this Wednesday, Feb. 5. The competition continues on Feb. 12, and then concludes on Feb. 19. This is the ninth annual edition of the event. Twenty competitors from all four Edmonds School District high schools will meet in the judged contest.
Judges for the first round are feature writer for the Herald newspaper Gale Fiege, MTHS drama department assistant Jessica Weight and MTHS music department assistant Justin Correa. Some of the 20 contestants will be eliminated after each of the first and second rounds of competition. Then a winner will be selected from the remaining singers on Feb. 19. Admission is $5 for each round, with proceeds going to the MTHS Class of 2014 for its safe and sober graduation night party and the school’s drama department.
