Another mudslide cancels Seattle-Edmonds Sounder train service Monday afternoon, Tuesday

All Sounder commuter train service between Everett and Seattle is canceled for Monday and Tuesday, March 10 and 11, due to another mudslide that occurred on Sunday evening. Sound Transit will provide special buses with direct service to/from Northline Sounder stations in addition to local bus service.

If there are no additional mudslides, train service will resume on the morning commute Wednesday, March 12. Monitor www.soundtransit.org for updates prior to your commute.

Monday evening Seattle-Edmonds bus service:
Special buses to Edmonds station will pre-board at 5th and King Street five minutes prior to departure, and will depart from 4th Avenue South and South Jackson Street at 4:05 p.m., 5:05 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit Route 416 at 5th and James at 3:57 p.m., 4:27 p.m., 4:58 p.m., 5:31 p.m. and 5:57 p.m.

  1. We always are concerned when slides disrupt service. The good news is that the Department of Transportation has repaired two of the slide areas and has four more to work on in the future in the Edmonds area. Seems like it can’t be too soon.
