Application deadline extended for 2014 Student Exchange Program with Japan

The Edmonds Sister City Commission has extended the deadline for applications for the 2014 Student Exchange program with Hekinan, Japan. The commission plans to send 15 students and 2 chaperones to Hekinan in July 2014 for a two-week stay. Students selected pay just their round-trip airfare plus $300 toward chaperone expenses. While in Japan, students will stay with Japanese families, enjoying a unique cultural immersion.

To be eligible and considered for the student exchange program, a student must be between the ages of 14 and 18 in July 2014 and submit all necessary student application materials by the new deadline of March 11. Application materials can be found on the Commission’s webpage under Exchange programs in the left-hand menu. Edmonds residency is not a requirement to participate.
