Cole, McLellan, McIalwain among Edmonds Chamber Arts Award winners

The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce Thursday morning released the names of the winners of its second annual Arts Awards. Winners will be recognized at a ceremony Thursday night, 7:30 p.m., at the Edmonds Conference Center, 4th and Bell.

Those being honored, named by category, are:

Individual Volunteer: Darlene McLellan, president of Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation

Business Leadership: Arts – Cole Gallery, owner Denise Cole

General: Comprehensive Wealth Management, owners Gary and Cheryl Arford

Individual Leadership: Joe McIalwain, executive director, Edmonds Center for the Arts

Creative Collaboration: Jazz Connection, Ron Keimer and Rotary Club of Edmonds Daybreakers, and Edmonds School District

The chamber also recognized its community sponsors: HeadSpinner Photography, Nama’s Candy Store, The Cheesemonger’s Table, Brigitte Hefferan, and Edmonds Bakery.

The Arts & Culture Selection committee includes Jack Loos, Frances Chapin, Gretchen Johnston, Mary Lou Block, Samantha Saether, Barbara Kindness, Helen Wilkins, Gillian Jones, Sam Nigh, Keith Gehrig and Valerie Claypool.

The recognition event Thursday night is free and open to the public. A reception with music by Jazz Pearls and refreshments will be followed by a welcome from Chamber president and CEO Kyle Vixie.
