Documentary ‘Blackfish’ and cast members at Edmonds CC Thursday

A screening of the documentary film “Blackfish” at Edmonds Community College will feature two of the cast members, starting at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6 in the Black Box Theatre on campus, 20000 68th Ave. W.

“Blackfish” reveals the life of captive killer whales, especially at SeaWorld. The documentary chronicles the life of Tilikum, a captive orca responsible for the deaths of three people — a behavior never witnessed in the wild.

A Q&A following the film will include Carol Ray, a former Sea World trainer, and Howard Garrett, co-founder of the Orca Network.

The screening is free and open to the public, but a $5 donation is appreciated. For more information, call 425-640-1448 or go to www.edcc.edu/blackbox.
