I hope you guys had a wonderful Valentines Day! Valentines isn’t just about having a Valentine for a day, but rather having that one person that is your 365-days-in-a-year valentine, meaning everyday should be like Valentines Day! That being said, I can’t believe how fast February has gone by!
Before we get too far into March, here are my favorites for the month of February:
Let’s save the best for last — AKA makeup — because I have a lot of it this month!
I always love to wear makeup but unfortunately, when you do, it can clog up your pores. Before you do anything, taking off your makeup is a must! Yes to Carrots Nourishing Gentle Cleansing Wipes, which have been my go-to lately and I just can’t see switching to anything else anytime soon.
My pore problems are right on my nose, it shouldn’t be a shocker that I’m a huge fan of Biore’s Nose Strips. This is amazing! On the package itself it says, “Ultra deep cleaning pore strips” and that’s exactly what they do! My favorite part? Pulling the nose strip off, of course! After I do that, I always like to follow up with a mask just so my skin feels fresh and healthy, giving a nice radiant glow.
This month, I actually picked up a peel. I know the word “peel” can sound scary, but I promise you, this guy is anything but it. Alba Botanica Good & Clean Pore Purifying Mini Peel. This is so nice on the skin and has such a nice fruity sent that it really does feel like I am getting a facial at the spa!
After all of that, I like to really restore my skin by adding a nice serum to it. Serums are wonderful because it gives your moisturize a boost. I picked up L’oreal Paris Youth Code Texture Perfector. This is my new addiction! It helps uneven texture, pores and lines — this is a go-getter!
Last and final step is to clear any personal imperfections — Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. If I have an ongoing pimple or feel like one is on its way, I dab this guy on and he works like a charm!
For hair, I have been loving Tresmme’s 24 Hour Body Root Boosting Spray. I have been on a spree for voluminous products and this is the official icing to the cake. Split ends are also a big no-no for me. In order to keep those out of sight and out of mind, I also use Tresemme’s Heat Protecting Spray, which has been in my favorites before. For those lazy days, I love to have my hair up, I do have frizzes and baby hair, to keep it sleek I use Garnier Curl Shaping Spray Gel. It says curl spraying gel and honestly, I don’t know why because it doesn’t help my curls when my hair is down, but this product works like no other when I want the fly-always gone. All I do it tie, spray and brush, and voilà, it’s gone!
“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.”
Body favorites! For my body, I have been loving Yes To Blueberries Ultra Hydrating Body Wash, which also has lavender in it! Could we just take a moment to appreciate that combo? It smells just as good as it sounds, believe me! Right after I get out of the shower I love to put on some lotion, but I have been a little lazy about that, which is why I have been using Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer. Spray, rub and wait 30 seconds, no greasy feeling, no waiting, no mess — best of all, it works!
Last but not least, I have been wearing Essie’s Ballet Slippers on my nails for the past month and have been obsessed with it.
Can I get a drum roll please? We are finally here! Saved the best for last!
Let’s start with the basics. If you don’t have some good makeup brushes in your life, Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman is a must! These guys are my holy grail of all brushes, even my expensive ones. They’re always sold at Ulta and usually buy one, get one free or half off, plus your coupon on top of that too. I have the blush brush, expert face brush, powder brush and the stippling brush. Seriously, stop reading this, get into your vehicle and get these guys now! I also picked up Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Concealer — this guy is like MAC’s Prolong Wear + Benefits Fake Up! It’s so light and velvety and the coverage is perfection! Seriously, now I know what the rave was all about!
A lot of people ask me what kind of eye shadow I use and it should be no surprise that I am head over heels for Maybelline Color Tattoo in the color Barely Brazen. I have always loved the “no eye shadow” makeup look. It gives me just a nice, clean, bright eye, which is a definite must because I love my makeup looking fresh and just done.
Adding onto the eyes, I am a mascara junkie, I always have been and always will be. I have been using Covergirl’s 24 hour Lashblast in the waterproof formula and honestly think that if I were stuck on an island and could only bring one item of makeup, this would be it! This guy curls, define and adds volume to my lashes. I find that the waterproof formulas for the majority of mascaras are always better because they hold your eyelashes in perfect place all day. Think of it as hairspray to your beautiful, nice curls.
If I am feeling extra glamorous, I love to add on falsies. These are the Ardell Natural Lashes; I use them in the number 124 and also 21. I get a three to four uses out of them and just love them so much!
For lips, I have been adoring Nivea’s Lip Butter. This is wonderful to lather on your lips right before bed and first thing in the morning after brushing your teeth. The last thing is a random find but that’s what makes it so special. It’s the Real Colors Lip Fury Plumping Gloss in the shade Nymph. I got this at Sally’s by accident and honestly, if you were to compare it to a high-end lip gloss, I don’t think you would be able to tell much of a difference.
(Don’t) Leave it at the store: Bombshell Volume by COVERGIRL
When I told you guys I was a mascara junkie, it was no lie. I love to layer multiple different ones to complete the whole look because one mascara just doesn’t give my lashes enough love. I had to pick this up to see what all the hype was about, and after trying it out for a little over a month now — you guys need to get your hands on this. This is a A+! It’s a two-step process and it works wonders! I have tried expensive mascara and have tried drugstore mascara; with this, there is no difference — it works just as well. Don’t ever leave this at the store — pick it up and stock up, it’s a keeper!
When people think of makeup, they think of glamour — glamour comes at all price points. Expensive makeup usually has the same ingredients as the drugstore ones; there are always dupes for high-end makeup that are drugstore ones. I want to be a walking, talking human beauty encyclopedia for you guys and in order to do so, I need to try everything out for myself. It’s never about high-end or low-end makeup; it’s about finding what works best for you!
Smile lots, dream big and don’t ever forget that the most beautiful thing you can have on is your smile!
