More about Shane Hope, Edmonds’ new Development Services Director
On Tuesday, the Edmonds City Council confirmed Mayor Dave Earling’s appointment of Shane Hope as the City of Edmonds’ new Development Services Director. Hope comes to Edmonds from the City of Mountlake Terrace, where she has been the Community and Economic Development Director for the past 12 years. Prior to that, she worked for the Washington State Department of Commerce and the Thurston County Regional Planning Council.
Hope holds a Master’s degree from the University of Washington in Urban Planning, a Bachelor’s degree from Evergreen State College in Urban Planning & Public Administration, a Certificate in Urban Design from the UW and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
She currently sits on the Puget Sound Regional Staff Committee, is co-chair of the Snohomish County Tomorrow PAC as well as a member of their Executive Committee. She is former president of the Washington City Planning Directors Association and the recipient of a Visionary Employee of the Year award from the City of Mountlake Terrace.
“We are fortunate to add Shane as our Director of Development Services,” Earling said. “Her statewide presence and knowledge will be important as the city moves forward.”
Hope is tentatively scheduled to start in early April.
