Chantz Justice threw a complete game 8-hitter with four strikeouts and one walk as Edmonds-Woodway defeated Lake Stevens in a Wesco 4A match-up.

The Warriors’ first two hitters, Jason Smarr and Joey Rees, walked in the bottom of the first, setting the stage for a Tate Budnick 3-run homer — his second of the year — deep to left field, putting E-W up 3-0.

Budnick went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and 4 RBI. Jason Smarr had 2 runs, 2 walks and a stolen base and Brett Stoneman also had an RBI for E-W.

The Mavs were led by Alex Thompson, who went 4-for-4 with two singles, a double and two RBI, and Colton Witsman who singled, doubled and also added an RBI.

The Grizzlies earned an overtime victory over the Mavs. Taylor Von der Hofen scored the lone Meadowdale goal on a Griffin Over assist.
