The Center for Human Services, a community-based nonprofit youth and family services agency located in Shoreline, recently awarded the Edmonds School District the 2014 Dorrit Pealy Award. The award is given annually to an individual and organization that provides their community with outstanding support, and is given in honor of Dorrit Pealy, a Center for Human Services founding board member.

The center’s annual dinner auction, attended by 300 people, raised funds to support uncompensated services provided through the organization’s family counseling and family support programs, and substance abuse prevention, intervention and treatment.
