Edmonds School District named 2014 ‘Best Community for Music Education’

BCME for ThumbnailThe Edmonds School District has been recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education with a Best Communities for Music Education designation. The district was one of 376 districts nationwide – and only two others in Washington state – to receive the prestigious distinction in 2014.

In its 15th year, Best Communities for Music Education recognizes school districts that have demonstrated exceptional efforts toward maintaining music education as part of the schools’ core curriculum. This is the Edmonds School District’s sixth year in a row receiving this award and the eighth year overall.

  1. kudos to the District and all who make the music program what it is. I never miss the annual Edmonds Jazz Connection when these talented young folks and the instructors who nurture them put on a dynamite multi-venue show for the community and visitors to our town. One more reason Edmonds is emerging as *the* premier arts community in the region. Congrats to all!
