Steve Call, coach of Edmonds-Woodway High School’s boys basketball team for the past three years, has resigned.

Call, who submitted his resignation last week, cited a long commute between Edmonds and his Kirkland residence and work in Seattle and Bellevue, adding it “was just to much to manage for me and my family in terms if the commute and living out of the district.”

Call, who came to Edmonds-Woodway after coaching at Shoreline Christian and Juanita High School, compiled a 45-28 record in his three years with the Warriors. While he “will certainly miss the boys and the opportunity to coach,” Call said he is positive about the future of EWHS boys basketball.

“I do feel really good about where we are as a program,” Call said. “We had three successful seasons with 2nd place in Wesco south each year and a chance at state this past year. We have a very good freshman class this year so we will be in good shape for a while.”
