In memoriam: Paul Roy, longtime Edmonds resident

Paul Roy, longtime Edmonds’ resident, passed away on March 21, 2014, at the age of 95.

He was born in Fort Kent, Maine on Feb. 5, 1919, where he grew up. In 1942 he entered the U.S. Army, serving in England, North Africa and the Eastern Pacific during World War II. After the war, he relocated to the Seattle area where he married Marion Francis, working for the next 40 years in the construction trades and then as a contractor, in which role he built numerous homes and business structures in the area.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996. He is survived by his daughter, Pam Roy, of Everett, Dana Roy of Tuscon, Arizona, Patrick Hayden-Roy of Lincoln, Neb. and his wife Priscilla, and grandchildren Anna and Peter.

Memorials should be directed to Harmony Hill Retreat Center of Union, Wash.
