Author Kathleen Kaska speaks at EPIC Group on Mon., May 12, from 11 a.m. to noon in the Edmonds LIbrary. Kaska’s talk is on “Writing the Book Proposal that Sells,” and she provided this preview:

This is your opportunity to get your foot in the publishing door. Want that contract before you’ve finished writing the book?  Want to pitch your book so that publishers or agents ask for more? How do you do that? Simple: write a powerful book proposal that keeps three questions in mind: Why this book? Who will read it? Why are you the one to write it?”

Kathleen Kaska writes fiction and nonfiction and is the author of eight published books and more than 70 magazine articles. She is a member of the Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime. Her Sherlock Holmes and Alfred Hitchcock trivia books were finalists for the 2013 Electronic Publishing Industry Coalition Award in nonfiction.

Seating at Monday’s talk is limited to the first twenty people. For more information on Kathleen Kaska, visit her website, and to learn about free literary events see EPIC Group Writers.
