Benefit concert May 18 to raise funds to send military children to summer camp

brave222x150pxEdmonds’ North Sound Church is sponsoring Because of the Brave II, a benefit concert for Operation Xtreme at CRISTA Camps, Sunday, May 18, at 7 p.m. at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. Operation Xtreme offers school-aged children in military families the opportunity to spend a week at summer camp and experience paintball, dirt bikes, horses, team-building and nightly firesides, free of charge. This year 500 kids are expected to participate.

The concert will feature the Mosaic Arts Northwest Choir and Orchestra, a performing arts community of the Pacific Northwest consisting of 80 singers and 20 instrumentalists. The concert repertoire includes Americana, jazz, and gospel music. Veterans and service members will be honored for their service to our country and are encouraged to wear their uniforms.
