Edmonds’ Strategic Plan honored with Governor’s Smart Communities Award

The City of Edmonds’ Strategic Action Plan is a merit award winner in the Governor’s 2014 Smart Communities Award program, Mayor Dave Earling has announced. This program recognizes achievements by local leaders for smart growth planning and projects that contribute to quality of life in Washington state.

“I am very pleased that the City’s Strategic Action Plan has been recognized by the Governor,” said Mayor Dave Earling. “With this plan, our community has provided great input and set priorities for moving ahead.”

The Strategic Action Plan was adopted in 2013 after an extensive public process. It identifies 86 actions to be accomplished over the next several years. Actions are based on several goals, such as enhancing the economy and building on the community’s arts and cultural heritage.
