Greg Urban, a long-time ambassador and volunteer for the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, has been named the organization’s new president and CEO, Chamber Board Chair Jack Loos confirmed Friday.

Urban, who provides graphic and website design and photography services through his company, Ideas Unfold, replaces Kyle  Vixie, who resigned April 29, citing personal reasons.

The Chamber Board created the new role of President and CEO this year after the board determined a reorganization of staffing would benefit the chamber.

Loos said that Urban was one of the finalists — and “a very, very strong candidate” for the job — before the board decided to hire Vixie.

Urban, who starts Monday, May 5, has a good relationship with the Edmonds business community after spending years as a Chamber ambassador, Loos added.
