The Edmonds-based Hazel Miller Foundation again has awarded the Edmonds Chamber Foundation a $30,000 grant to support An Edmonds Kind of 4th, the chamber’s annual Fourth of July celebration. Annually, the Edmonds Chamber Foundation, a non-profit 501(c) (3) presents the event, which is managed by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce.
“Festive celebrations like An Edmonds Kind of 4th are important to the fabric of our community,” said Edmonds Chamber Foundation member Carl Zapora. “The Edmonds 4th of July celebration is unique in how it brings together Edmonds residents, families from surrounding communities and visitors from the U.S. and Canada. The Edmonds Chamber and Chamber Foundation are grateful to the Hazel Miller Foundation for providing this extremely generous grant to ensure An Edmonds Kind of 4th continues for many years!”
As part of the Annual Giving” program, the Hazel Miller Foundation will continue as a long-term partner of An Edmonds Kind of 4th and will be represented as the title sponsor for the day’s activities. Edmonds’ Fourth of July activities kick off a summer full of family- and community- centered Edmonds Chamber of Commerce activities, including A Taste of Edmonds (Aug. 8-10), David Stern Memorial Golf Classic (Aug. 25) and Edmonds Classic Car Show (Sept. 7).
Hazel Miller and her husband Morris were long-time Edmonds residents. The grant awarded in 2012 earmarks $30,000 per year for three years to fund the popular Edmonds 4th of July celebration, which includes a 5K Fun Run/Walk, Children’s Parade, Main Parade and Evening Mini-Concert & Fireworks that draws over 25,000 spectators.
