Police torch run set for Highway 99 through Edmonds Friday morning

Expect some slow going around 8 a.m. along Highway 99 through Edmonds Friday as the Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood police participate in the Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run.

According to police spokesman Sgt. Mark Marsh, the Edmonds leg of the run will start at 212th Street Southwest and Highway 99 to the county line at 244th Street Southwest, where Edmonds police runners will hand the torch off to Shoreline Police.

The run ends up at Joint Base Fort Lewis/McChord, site of this weekend’s Special Olympic games involving athletes from throughout the region.
