Prep track and field: Meadowdale boys take third at Wesco 3A championships

Mar-gary-onta Kilcup won the 100- and 200-meter dashes to help lead the Meadowdale boys track and field team to a third place finish at the Wesco 3A championships Friday at Quil Ceda Stadium in Marysville.

Kilcup clocked in with a time of 11:04 in the 100 and 22.50 in the 200. Teammate Malix Braxton won the triple jump with a leap of 43-0. Chris Grant placed second in the 110 and 300 hurdles. Marysville-Pilchuck and Glacier Peak were first and second, respectively, in the team standings.

Meadowdale’s Dee Dee Free won the girls shot put with a throw of 37-0. The Mavericks finished ninth overall in the team competition. Mountlake Terrace took first place.
