A Special Day for some Special Athletes Posted: May 17, 2014 689 Lynnwood High School was the host for the Special Olympics Project Unify soccer tournament on Saturday, May 17. Special Olympics Unified Sports is an inclusive program that combines about an equal number of Special Olympics athletes and partners without disabilities on teams for training and competition. Here, the Edmonds-Woodway High School team takes a group photo. (Photos by David Pan) The Mountlake Terrace and Meadowdale cheer squad gave a warm welcome to athletes, coaches and parents. Edmonds School District students, teachers and coaches volunteered at the event. Members of the Lynnwood and Edmonds-Woodway High School teams played a game of Simon Says. One of the activities was a limbo contest. New friends were made during the Special Olympics Project Unify rally.
