State 4A girls tennis: E-W doubles team to play for 4th place Saturday

warrior-logoEdmonds-Woodway’s Myint-Zu Kyaw and Hanna Rehnfeldt will face two very familiar names Saturday when they play for 4th and 7th place in the consolation round of the State 4A girls tennis tournament.

On Friday, Kyaw and Rehnfeldt won their first state match in the Tri-Cities, beating Carina LeFave and Kylee McKay of Moses Lake 6-3, 6-1. The Warrior duo fell in the next round, losing 6-3, 6-1 to Jen Lewis and Hannah Gianan of Camas.

That loss set up a rematch between Kyaw/Rehnfeldt and Jenna Gilbert and Elizabeth Norris from Kamiak. The Warrior girls defeated Gilbert/Norris 6-4, 6-4 to clinch the district doubles championship earlier this month.
