Upcoming Ice Age Floods Institute to meet in Edmonds Monday

The Upcoming Ice Age Floods Institute will meet Monday, June 2 in Edmonds. The topic is “Introducing the New Online Inventory
of Significant Erratic Boulders in Washington.”

Terry Swanson, Principal Lecturer at the University of Washington  Department of Earth and Space Sciences, has been mentor to Ashly Padgett in her work on a special student project, developing an online inventory system that will take in the whole state, and be open to public input
and participation, with expert review. They will come to discuss the scientific and educational uses of such information, and to demonstrate the design of the system.

The program will begin at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The chapter meets atvthe Edmonds Senior Center, which is right on the waterfront in Edmonds, at 220 Railroad Ave. Some off-street parking is available, and there is elevator access to the second-floor meeting room.
