It was a howling good time at Firdale Village on Saturday morning as the Edmonds Pet Fest got underway with booths, vendors, and contests including a dog fashion show and even a doggie pie eating contest.
Sponsored by the Puget Sound Pet Business Network, the event attracted more than 100 dogs and their owners. Cars filled the Firdale Village parking lot to capacity, forcing many to find parking on neighborhood streets.
Rescue organizations were there in force, bringing scores of orphans looking for forever homes. Happily, many found them.
“This is our biggest event of the year,” said Dorothy Moore, owner of the Dining Dog Cafe, where dogs and their owners dine together at tables equipped with chairs for humans and benches for canines. “Firdale Village has a great concentration of pet-related businesses, which makes it a super location.”
