Windows of about two dozen vehicles shot out in Edmonds earlier this week
Edmonds police are looking for a red car with loud exhaust that may have been involved in at least two dozen incidents in Edmonds earlier this week in which car windows were shot out by someone with a pellet gun or similar weapon.
According to police spokesman Sgt. Mark Marsh, the shootings occurred between late Monday night, June 2 and early Tuesday morning, June 3. The majority of vehicles were located in apartment complex parking lots, including the Pacific Park and Park Ballinger Apartments on Highway 99, Breva condominiums at 80th Avenue West and 234th Street Southwest, and Firdale Village apartments on 244th Street Southwest.
“Going through the reports very quickly, we had 16 victims alone at Firdale apartments and the immediate surrounding area,” Marsh said. “A quick count gives us 23 victims but I am sure there are more than that.”
The shootings extended beyond Edmonds, and also involved cars in Mountlake Terrace, Shoreline and unincorporated Snohomish County, Marsh added.
“At this time it is unknown exactly how many victims there are between all of the jurisdictions and the amount of damage they caused,” he said.
