Missing in the Westgate neighborhood: Russian tortoise Shelly Mae

Shelley Mae

Westgate neighborhood resident Ann Aldrich is heartbroken over her missing pet, but be assured that it would be hard to overlook Shelly Mae — a Russian tortoise — if you saw her.

Aldrich stopped by our table at the Edmonds Museum Summer Market Saturday to tell us about her beloved Shelly Mae, who was last seen at 22921 93rd Pl. W., is the size of a dinner plate and moves very fast for a tortoise. “I miss her very much,” she said.

If you have seen Shelly Mae, call Aldrich at 206-852-2845. A reward is being offered for her safe return.

    • Amber,
Thanks for the message … I ran down to
see if it was Shelly Mae at Just Frogs..
Was really disappointed – wasn’t her..

  2. We found the tortoise and brought her to the Frog Lady last night! My grandson, aged 6 found Shelly Mae walking toward our front porch yesterday! He named her Michelangelo, as we thought it was a turtle! So relieved to hear back from the Frog Lady that this awesome creature gets to return home today!
