Police still investigating May 20th SUV-pedestrian fatality at 4th and Bell
Edmonds police are continuing their investigation into the May 20 SUV-pedestrian collision at 4th Avenue North and Bell Street that killed 73-year-old Edmonds resident Lexie J. Hess. According to police spokesman Sgt. Mark Marsh, investigators are still awaiting the official medical examiner’s report and the results of the toxicology screen on the 36-year-old driver, also an Edmonds woman, before forwarding the case to the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges.
According to police, Hess was crossing 4th Ave North, eastbound on Bell Street, when she was struck by a late model SUV. The SUV’s driver, who had been initiating a left turn onto 4th Ave North, stopped immediately and called 911, police said.
