Good news: Howie has been adopted

Howie
Howie, who has spent the past month at Adix kennels in Edmonds, has a new home.

Howie has been adopted. The approximately 10-year-old German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix was originally found in a stolen vehicle, after spending several days there. While Howie was not stolen, his owner decided to not pick him up. Thanks to reader Jeanne Schwarz for alerting us to Howie’s situation.

  1. I will post this on Facebook and shame on his owner for not picking him up! If my car was stolen with my pet inside I would be more relieved to get my pet back than the car.

  2. When you get a pet it is like a child. They are a furever relationship. People should need licenses to get pets.

  3. Thank you, everyone! Please help me spread the word. I met him yesterday when I took his picture and he really is a sweetheart! He deserves a loving companion.

  4. Side note! There’s also a cute and friendly female chihuahua there for anyone looking for a small companion dog.

  5. I just saw on petfinder.com that Howie has been adopted!!! I’m so happy for him and thank everyone who helped spread the word!

  6. Good work Jeanne for advertising Howie’s availability. I am happy for him and his new family. Go HOWIE!

  7. Jewel, the chihuahua I mentioned above, has been adopted now too! If you want to adopt a local pet, Edmonds Animal Control keeps their available pets at Adix Bed and Bath kennels. But for today at least, the 2 available pets are in their new homes!
