For the past two years, My Edmonds News has written about the urban hike by Ballard High School grads covering all Dick’s Drive-In restaurants, starting at the Edmonds Dick’s. This year, Dick’s Drive-In itself is participating as a sponsor for the walk, which starts at 10:35 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7,
The event, which involves six Dick’s Drive Ins and coves 22 miles, will support Change for Charity partners, which help the homeless in the local community.
If you don’t want to walk, you can still help by making a Change for Charity donation at any Dick’s Drive-In Restaurant. In honor of all the Walk-A-Thon attendees. Dick’s pledges to match up to $2,000 of all donations given to the Change for Charity boxes.
Interested walkers are encouraged to gather at the Edmonds Dick’s Drive-In location at 110:30 a.m. Sunday for the trek across Seattle to support our Change for Charity partners: Mary’s Place, First Place School, FareStart, ROOTS Young Adult Shelter, The Compass Center, Operation Nightwatch, St. Martin de Porres Shelter and Cocoon House.
Walkers who make a $20-plus donation at Edmonds will receive a punch card to take to each store and an orange T-shirt to wear on the trek. If you want to join along the way, follow updates on Twitter and Facebook to find the walk! Here’s the estimated schedule:
