Racing memorabilia to be auctioned off at Sunday’s Edmonds Classic Car Show

At the Edmonds Classic Car Show this Sunday, Sept. 7, you can not only drool over some beautiful vehicles, vote for your favorites and have a blast with the family; this year you can own a piece of vintage racing memorabilia.

The stars of the Edmond’s Cackle Thunder are donating personal race memorabilia signed by the likes of Herm Petersen “The Northwest Terror”, Jerry King, Mr. Jr Nitro, Bucky Austin, Gentleman Hank Johnson, the King himself Jerry “The King” Ruth and many more!

So come out and bid on a piece of racing history, with the proceeds going to benefit the Edmonds Food Bank, the auction will start at 4 p.m.

Schedule of events:

10 a.m.-5 p.m. – Car Show
4:30 p.m. – Awards
10 a.m.-8 p.m. – Beer Garden
5-8 p.m. – Live Music

Featured this year:

• Kids World will have midget racecars the kids are allowed to climb all over and free pinewood derby car kits to build, paint and race on the pinewood derby track. Visit the My Edmonds News booth and take the news trivia challenge, and you can win a prize!

• New this year is a Beer Garden for the adults, bring your ID and visit the garden
from 10:00-8:00 pm. The garden will also feature live music from 5:00-8:00 pm.

• Nitro Dragsters will fire up their engines to rattle the windows and wow the crowd.
Get ready to plug your ears at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

• Vote for your favorite cars and raise money for charity at the same time, each vote for  costs $1 with all money benefitting the Edmonds Food Bank. Last year we raised $900.
