Reminder: Deadline Monday, Feb. 2 to apply for Edmonds City Council opening

The Edmonds City Council is accepting applications from qualified Edmonds residents to be considered for appointment to a vacancy on the Edmonds City Council for position 2, vacated by Strom Peterson after he was elected to the state Legislature. The deadline to apply is Monday, Feb. 2.

The City of Edmonds is a Mayor/Council form of government with regularly scheduled council meetings on Tuesday evenings. Councilmembers are elected for seven at-large positions and represent all citizens. Councilmembers receive a base salary of $1,000 per month and are eligible for benefits.

To be eligible, you must be a registered Edmonds voter and have lived in Edmonds for one year prior to the appointment.

You can apply in the following ways:

In person: Pick up a hard copy at the first floor reception desk of City Hall: 121 5th Ave. N., Edmonds, WA 98020
Via an emailed PDF application: Email jana.spellman@edmondswa.gov. You need to have Acrobat Reader on your computer to access this form.

The entire form must be completed and submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on Mon. Feb. 2. Applicants may attach a cover letter and/or resume in addition to completing the entire application form. Please see application form for complete submittal requirements.

The council has not yet determined when candidate interviews will be scheduled. Only those persons who have submitted applications, or have had applications submitted on their behalf, will be eligible for nomination to fill the vacant position.
