Mark your calendars and purchase your tickets. C’est la Vie and Operation Military Family Cares, in honor of National Military Appreciation Month, have teamed up again to sponsor the second Annual “Operation Fashion Forward” on Thursday, May 14 at the Edmonds Yacht Club (326 Admiral Way) from 5-7 p.m.

National Military Appreciation Month was designated by the U.S. Congress at the urging of congressionally chartered veterans service organizations. It begins with Loyalty Day May 1, continues with V-E Day and Military Spouse Appreciation Day May 8, Armed Forces Day May 16 and concludes with Memorial Day May 25.

Operation Fashion Forward is an unforgettable event to celebrate and support our military and veteran families through a charity fashion show. Local military-connected and veteran-connected family members will model the latest spring fashions from C’est la vie and proceeds raised from the event will support employment and emergency fund programs that aid veteran families.

Last year’s event was sold out and tickets are going fast. Tickets are $25 per person online and can be purchased at www.OMFCares.org or at C’est la vie. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $35 but advanced ticket purchases are encouraged as seating is limited for this event.

Those who attend will feast on food from some of our favorite local restaurants and stores including Epulo, 5 Bistro, Las Brisas, Bar Dojo/Salt and Iron, Taki Tiki, Thai Cottage, The Loft, Nama’s, PCC, Copper Pot, Edmonds Bakery and more. Local wines from Alexandria Nicole Cellars and other wineries will be also be available for sampling.

Those who love silent auctions will have the opportunity to bid on a number of items that range from a whale watching tour from Puget Sound Express, glass art from Lyn Mcmanus, Pilate lessons, Mariners tickets, a full-day boat cruise, a Debbie Bodal cooking class, an autographed NFL football from former Seahawks QB Jeff Kemp, and a Southern low country boil dinner party for six that consists of shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, homemade mac ‘n cheese, strawberry goat cheese spinach salad, key lime pie and signature cocktails.

Fashion. Food. Wine. Fun. And honoring those who serve this country.
