The non-profit Kiwanis Club of Edmonds is having its annual berry sale fundraiser. This year the club is only offering strawberries and they can be picked up on June 18 in the Edmonds Senior Center parking lot.
These berries are grown in the Mount Vernon area and are picked, washed, sliced and packed in 15-pound pails with no sugar added. They are excellent for use in jams and jellies, smoothies, on shortcakes or just eating from the pail. The berries are prepaid and an order form is available on the Kiwanis Club of Edmonds website.
Kiwanis is a worldwide organization the originated to support children. All of the funds they raise is spent on children primarily in the Edmonds area. The club has distributed over 200 bike helmets to local schoolchildren and each year furnishes every 3rd grade Edmonds child their own dictionary. Money we receive also goes to scholarships, Clothes for Kids and to the Edmonds Food Bank.
The Edmonds Kiwanis meets each Tuesday at the Edmonds Pancake Haus at noon, and men and women of all ages are welcome.
