Lynnwood man arrested in connection with Edmonds Banner Bank robbery

Police officers from Edmonds and Mill Creek Thursday morning arrested a 37-year-old Lynnwood man in connection with two bank robberies, including one May 13 at the Banner Bank on 212th Street Southwest in Edmonds.

According to Edmonds poliice spokesman Sgt. Shane Hawley, the man was arrested at 10:44 a.m. outside his residence in the 16400 block of Alderwood Mall Parkway. The vehicle believed to have been used in both crimes was located and impounded pending further investigation.

In addition to the Edmonds robbery, the man is suspected of robbing a Union Bank in Mill Creek on April 1, 2015.

Police investigators were led to the suspect by an anonymous tip submitted to Crime Stoppers. When investigators followed up on that information, they were able to positively identify the suspect and develop further leads which led to his arrest.

The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on two counts of first-degree robbery.
