A 44-year-old Auburn woman just learning to drive crashed a pickup truck into a house in the 1000 block of Bell Street in downtown Edmonds Friday morning, but there were no injuries, Edmonds police said.

According to Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Shane Hawley, the incident occurred at 10:15 a.m. when the truck’s owner, a 70-year-old Edmonds man, was teaching the woman to drive. The driver, who was not impaired, lost control of the vehicle. The homeowner was home at the time of the crash but wasn’t injured, Hawley said.

“The truck is still in the house, and will be until they can have someone determine if it is structurally sound enough to remove it,” Hawley said.

The driver was cited for second-degree negligent driving.
