What do baseball and environmental protection have in common? You can support both with the Everett AquaSox Environmental Day at the Ballpark in Everett June 28.

Snohomish County, Snohomish Health District, and the AquaSox have partnered to host a free ‘Take Back’ event at the June 28 AquaSox game to help ensure that unwanted electronics and medications – including controlled substances, over-the-counter and pet medicines – are safely managed at the end of their life.

Snohomish County residents and AquaSox ticket holders can drop-off unwanted electronics for free at Everett Memorial Stadium’s north and south ticket gates, 3802 Broadway Ave., on June 28 between 2:30 and 5 p.m. Most electronics with a plug or battery will be accepted, with the exception of televisions. Complete listings are available at www.snohomishcountywa.gov/ballgame.
AquaSox ticket holders can also drop-off unwanted medication and vitamins at the plaza behind home plate for free during this time.

Since its inception in 2009, Washington State’s e-cycle program has kept more than 200 million pounds of electronic waste out of landfills and from being exported to developing nations. More than 13 million pounds have been recycled, reducing the amount of lead and other pollution from entering the environment.
