Following an open house and public hearing, the Edmonds Planning Board at its June 10 meeting recommended forwarding a draft 2015 Comprehensive Plan update to the City Council.
Updating the citywide plan to meet a state deadline of mid‐2015 has been underway for about a year. Draft updates of each major component have been reviewed one at a time during public meetings by the Planning Board and City Council. Now the full plan has been put together and is being reviewed for consistency and any last changes before finalizing.
The proposed plan focuses on new census data and other minor changes. It includes a new transportation element with a list of projects to be funded over the next six years.
Next, the Edmonds City Council will hold public hearing on the Comprehensive Plan during its Tuesday, June 16 meeting starting at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 250 5th Ave. N. The council is scheduled to make a final decision July 7.
