A free community workshop on rain gardens sponsored by the Snohomish Conservation District, Washington State University Extension and the City of Edmonds is set from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13 at the Edmonds PCC Market, 9803 Edmonds Way.

According to the city announcement:

A rain garden is a beautiful landscape feature that allows you to control drainage safely while also providing protection to our local creeks, lakes and Puget Sound from polluted runoff.

At the workshop you will learn how rain gardens can add more backyard habitat, attract beneficial pollinators, and could be a solution to a drainage problem. Come learn how to make this home project a reality through the city’s stormwater program, support from experts, and more.

We’ll meet inside the classroom for coffee and refreshments, but please come prepared to be outside to tour the on-site rain gardens.

You can RSVP and obtain more information here.
