A Saturday afternoon open house drew a parade of pets, pet owners, and curious passersby to meet the staff and take a tour of the newly-opened Fifth Avenue Animal Hospital at 310-5th Ave. S.

“I’m really excited to be open at last and able to serve pets and pet owners in our community,” said Dr. Chris Garg, VMD. “I’ve lived just down the road in Richmond Beach for the past seven years, and feel very fortunate to have this wonderful community right in my backyard.”

The sparkling new facility includes the latest in modern veterinary care including digital x-ray equipment, a dedicated dental care studio, and the ability to handle an array of lab tests in-house. “We’ve been open for a few weeks now, and people are beginning to discover us,” said Garg.

The dental treatment room is equipped with modern digital x-ray equipment that allows continuous diagnosis and monitoring of procedures in progress. "Dental health is so important for pets," said Garg. "We can do everything from simple dental cleaning to complicated crowns and root canals."
