The National Weather Service is issuing a heat advisory for Thursday through 9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 1.
Temperatures will reach the mid and upper 90s today and the low to mid 90s on Friday and Saturday.
The service advises that hot temperatures can place extra stress on the body and possibly lead to dehydration and heat exhaustion. Drink plenty of fluids. If you work or spend time outside, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening if possible.
Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. The interior of automobiles can become very hot, creating a danger if children or pets are left unattended. Check up on relatives and neighbors.
