“It’s my passion. It’s my dream,” Barbara Hall said of opening her own bridal boutique.
At Barbara’s Bridal Boutique & Alterations, nestled among other recent additions to the Perrinville shopping center on the Edmonds/Lynnwood border, Hall proudly shows off her selection of wedding gowns, including couture designs by Robert Bullock, bridesmaid and prom dresses, mother-of-the-bride ensembles and flower girl outfits. She notes that she carries made-in-the-USA Ursula of Switzerland designs and also offers on-site alterations, even if you bought your dress elsewhere.
With 19 years in the business, Hall is known for her alterations expertise, and in fact has been recognized by KING 5’s Best of Western Washington contest for four years straight (1st place in 2011 and 2nd place the following three years). An Edmonds native who attended Edmonds Elementary and the former Edmonds Junior High and Edmonds High School, Hall learned to embroider at age 4 and by age 5 was operating a treadle sewing machine — and has never looked back.
Committed to ensuring that Edmonds has a bridal shop, she was inspired to expand from bridal alterations to a full bridal boutique after the closing last year of the city’s only other bridal shop: Cynderellie’s Closet on Main Street. Her passion, she says, is customer service. “When a bride walks in the door, I want to make sure she finds what she wants for her special day,” Hall said. “I’ve heard too many horror stories from brides who didn’t have a good experience.”
You can find Barbara’s Bridal Boutique & Alterations at 18521 76th Ave West, Suite 107, Edmonds, next to The Hook Restaurant. The phone is 425-772-2276.
