FastBar WristbandsThe 33rd Annual Taste of Edmonds is coming up this Friday-Sunday, Aug. 14-16 at Civic Center Playfield, and the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce has announced a new feature for the Beer Garden: FastBar wristbands.

According to Chamber Membership and Events Manager Sandra Williams, the wristbands allow guests to pay with debit/credit card instead of cash. Once the wristband is linked to their debit/credit card, guests receive a text each time a beer is purchased, and again at the end of the evening with a total. No more waiting in a longer, slower “cash only” beer line — instead you’ll be a specially designated FastBar line. The free wristbands are lightweight and waterproof, she said.

In addition, a new sound system will be in place, which will focus the music more directly into the Beer Garden, Williams said.

Free event passes were mailed out last week to the neighbors surrounding Civic Playfield, to thank them for accommodating the inconvenience of street closures, noise and related event logistics.
