Prep girls soccer: Long leads Meadowdale to 2-1 win over Mountlake Terrace

mavs logoBehind a pair of second-half goals by sophomore Lexa Long, Meadowdale downed Mountlake Terrace 2-1 in a Wesco 3A girls soccer match Tuesday night at Lynnwood High School.

Long got the Mavericks on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal in the 51st minute. The Hawks answered three minutes later with a score by sophomore Donnya Kvinge, assisted by freshman Abigail Johnson.

Meadowdale claimed the road victory after Long picked up her second goal in the 69th minute off an assist by junior Hannah Taylor.

Both teams are back on the soccer pitch on Thursday, Sept. 24; the Mavericks will face Marysville-Getchell at Edmonds Stadium while Mountlake Terrace travels to Marysville-Pilchuck to face the Tomahawks at QuilCeda Stadium.
