Meadowdale High School Arts Booster Club and Music Booster Club members are again joining forces to raise much-needed funds for the upcoming school year, My Edmonds News has learned from Rachel Dobbins, booster club spokesperson.
The focus of the club’s efforts, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, is to raise funds which will be used to install a pulley system for the curtains in the school’s Black Box Theatre, “which are well beyond the point of repair,” according to Dobbins.
The Arts Booster Club was able to procure replacement curtains from the Edmonds School District with grant money. “Unfortunately, that money covers the curtains only, not the pulley system for opening and closing the curtains. Having a mechanical pulley system will place less stress on the curtains and thereby extend their lifespan,” she explains.
This price tag for the pulley system is $10,000.
Because there are additional items needed to maintain the performance and stage areas used by Meadowdale Arts & Music Boosters; the two clubs are reaching out to the community with a fund raiser in the form of their first ever “Mattress Event!”
The booster clubs are calling on Custom Fundraising Solutions to set up a mobile mattress showroom at Meadowdale High School for the event. Twenty-five mattress styles will be on display for the fund raiser.
The community is invited to come out and shop at the mobile showroom just as they would from a retailer. A range of styles from national name brand manufacturers (like Simmons), all sizes in a wide variety of price ranges will be available for the general public, with pricing up to 50% less than standard retail pricing. Mattresses orders will be placed direct to the manufacturers the day after the sale and delivery is available within a week or two.
All purchases support the Meadowdale High School Performing Arts.
Custom Fundraising Solutions (CFS) is the originator of the Mattress Fundraiser concept. Mattress fundraisers originated 10 years ago and since then CFS has expanded to over 50 locations across the nation and has raised over $14 million dollars for community organizations.
