Snow in forecast overnight; likely turning to rain Monday

Snowflake 08Snow may affect the Monday morning commute, including transit service in the Puget Sound area.

The National Weather Service said snow is likely in our area Sunday night, with an accumulation of less than a half inch possible. On Monday, snow is likely before 10 a.m., followed by rain.

Sound Transit, which provides commuter service from South Snohomish County, and Community Transit, which provides both local and commuter service, recommends that riders register for rider alerts to get the latest on their particular route during inclement weather. Sound Transit riders can register for alerts here, while Community Transit riders can sign up for alerts here.

The Edmonds School District, which resumes classes Monday after winter break, will provide weather-related updates on its website — www.edmonds.wednet.edu.
